Schwarzenegger: Trump's Immigration Order 'Crazy'

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the current host of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice," is taking no prisoners when describing his feelings about the immigration travel ban instituted by the man he replaced on the show, Donald Trump.

"I think that the real problem is that it was vetted badly," Schwarzenegger said Monday during an interview with Mario Lopez on NBC's "Extra." "If they would've run this by the Justice Department and Homeland Security and had the lawyers really study it and focus on it and give it some time to do it the right way.”

Schwarzenegger, who immigrated from Austria to the United States in 1968, served a stint as governor California from 2003 to 2011 in between Hollywood roles. He believes the immigration plan was poorly planned from the start.

“To go and ban people who have a green card, that means that the United States of America has given you permission to work here permanently and you are on the way to permanent citizenship — I was in that position — it’s crazy. It’s crazy and makes us look stupid when the White House is ill-prepared to put this kind of executive order out there,” Schwarzenegger said during an interview with Mario Lopez on NBC's "Extra."

Schwarzenegger acknowledged that there is an adjustment period with a “new team,” and “mistakes” are going to be made. But, he adds, “I hope that this is a wake-up call for them. I learned very quickly that I have to be more inclusive and that I have to really not only do it with my party but with the other party, too.”
