Add Chloe Grace Moretz to the growing chorus of people who were "appalled and angry" because of the marketing campaign for her upcoming movie, "Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs."
Moretz's animated film parody came under fire after some accused it of promoting body shaming. Part of the campaign features artwork showing a plump Snow White next to the question, "What if Snow White was no longer beautiful?"
Moretz took to social media Wednesday to say she was unaware of the campaign used to promote the film.
Sujin Hwang, one of the film's producers, apologized in a statement to CNN that said the ad "had the opposite effect from that which was intended."
"Our film, a family comedy, carries a message designed to challenge social prejudices related to standards of physical beauty in society by emphasizing the importance of inner beauty," he said in his statement.
