A photographer at a Tampa nightclub says he was "sucker-punched" by singer Chris Brown early Monday morning, according to a police report.
Bennie Vines, Jr. was hired by Club Aja Channelside to take photos during an event hosted by Brown. The "Run It!" singer was in Tampa for the Florida leg of his The Party tour.
Brown arrived at the club with his entourage around 1:30 a.m. after his concert at Amalie Arena Sunday night, police said.
When Vines began snapping photos, Brown "sucker-punched" the photographer, Tampa police said. Several videos surfaced on social media alleging to show the apparent altercation.
The club confirmed the incident on its Facebook page and apologized to patrons. Brown was at the event for a few minutes before he and "his team assaulted our club photographer and proceeded to walk out of the venue," AJA wrote in the post. The "Party" singer left the club before officers arrived.
Vines told officers he wants to prosecute Brown becuase of a cut he suffered on his lip, according to the report. Police are investigating the incident.
Brown, singer of the hits "Run It!" and "Deuces," completed probation in a 2009 felony assault case for an attack on singer Rihanna, his then-girlfriend.
An email to a representative listed on Brown's website was not immediately returned.
